Allscripts stock drops as quarterly results miss Street view
Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. MDRX, +1.09% shares dropped in the extended session Thursday after the healthcare IT company’s quarterly results fell short of Wall Street estimates. Allscripts shares fell 8.6% after hours, following a 1.1% gain to close the regular session at $12.04. The company reported a third-quarter loss of $35.9 million, or 20 cents a share, compared with $28.6 million, or 16 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings were 18 cents a share. Revenue rose to $522.3 million from $449.4 million in the year-ago period. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had forecast earnings of 20 cents a share on revenue of $549.4 million. For the year, Allscripts forecast adjusted earnings of 72 cents to 82 cents a share on adjusted revenue of $2.15 billion to $2.25 billion. Analysts expect 76 cents a share on revenue of $2.17 billion.
