BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s consumer spending growth may recover as one-off and seasonal issues recede, a senior Chinese state planner official said on Thursday.
Liu Yunan, a senior official at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), told reporters at a regular briefing he believes China’s consumer growth is still “reasonable” despite slower growth reflected in official consumer spending data.
Liu noted consumption data doesn’t fully reflect services spending.
