The calls come after leaked papers linked top Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, to the crackdown on Uighur Muslims. MPs demanded the Government lead a boycott of the event next February. “What more does it take for my Government to make a clear decision?” Labour shadow foreign minister Stephen Kinnock asked if it is “appropriate to send members of our Royal Family to the Olympics to rub shoulders with the very people who are orchestrating these horrific crimes against their own people?”
