Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick mocked the Labour Party and questioned Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership while he spoke on Sky News. While speaking to host Trevor Phillips, Mr Jenrick admitted the Conservative Party did not get the result it wanted in the Batley and Spen by-election. He went on to say it was rare for opposition-held seats to swing during by-elections, however. 

Mr Jenrick also mocked Keir Starmer and his party for only winning the seat by a small margin despite this fact.
