Why aren’t we controlling borders? Piers Morgan & Tony Blair wade into row ‘not difficult’
Tony Blair: Half of UK population should be vaccinated by March
Tony Blair outlined his ambitious vaccination plan during an interview on Good Morning Britain. GMB co-host Piers Morgan backed the former Prime Minister’s strategy and called for the UK Government to “throw the kitchen sink” at the coronavirus pandemic over the next two months.
Mr Blair said: “You have got two vaccines that are available, we have several million of the Pfizer vaccine.
“I believe the AstraZeneca vaccine will be up to two million by the end of January.
“They should get it above that in February and then you have got several millions of the Pfizer vaccine.
“If you position yourself properly to be able to use these vaccines you should be able to get to 3 million a week by the end of January.

“In February you could increase that further, if you throw absolutely everything at this you could get to the stage by either the third week or last week of March you have got over half the population vaccinated.”
Mr Blair also confirmed he will be taking the coronavirus vaccine when it becomes available to him.
The former Labour Party leader questioned why the Conservative Government have not implemented round the clock vaccines.
Mr Blair pointed to the fact 30 million people vote on election day and suggested administering the coronavirus vaccine in village halls and pharmacies.
