Cautious Optimism In Markets As Jobs Data Looms
Markets are trading on a cautiously optimistic note ahead of the release of the monthly jobs data from the U.S. The monthly update, inter alia on additions to non-farm payrolls and the unemployment rate is expected to indicate the extent of resilience of the labor market and its likely sway over the Fed’s monetary policy strategy.
Wall Street Futures are trading with gains. European benchmarks are also trading mostly higher. Asian stock markets finished trading on a mixed note amidst the Caixin Manufacturing PMI from China delivering a positive surprise.
Dollar Index remained subdued. Bond yields mostly hardened. Crude oil prices hardened amidst expectations of further supply tightness, particularly from Russia and Saudi Arabia. Gold futures rose amidst the Dollar’s weakness. Cryptocurrencies plunged amidst SEC deferring its decision on some Bitcoin Spot ETF applications.
This is how the world markets spanning stocks, currencies, bonds, commodities and cryptocurrencies are trading at this hour.
